In this article, you will learn how to use docker-compose to run the Redis container and Redis GUI free & open source app.
We are using Docker to setup. Make sure you have installed docker on your system or can download it from the Docker webpage.
Create a new file docker-compose.yml under any directory, In our case, we are using the following project structure.

In the above file, we are creating a container for Redis which accepts a connection on port no. 6379
To start the container, Run the following command in the terminal
When you run the above command you will see the following output in the terminal.

Open the Another Redis Desktop Manager, Make sure your Redis docker container is running. Click on the New Connection as shown below
host: 127.0.0.1 and
port: 6379 then click on the
ok button as shown in the following screenshot.
Once the connection established, you will see the following screen.
Now click on the terminal icon as shown below.
Then you will see the following window.
Type the following command and hit enter. It will create new
key with value
welcome with 1000
SETEX mykey 1000 "Welcome"
Once the new key has been created, then you will see the following output
To GET the key type the following command
Then you will see the following ouput
Now click on the refresh button as shown below.
Then you can see in the GUI. The key has been created
We are done with Docker Redis and GUI
